A Seamless Architectural Extension in Surrey

Studio barn, pool and exterior landscaping designed to reflect the spirit of a historic country home.

This studio barn was conceived as more than an outbuilding, it was designed as a natural continuation of the main house. Every detail, from the proportions to the window shapes, was carefully considered to sit in quiet harmony with the surrounding architecture.

The gothic-style windows, in particular, echo the rhythm and softness of the original manor’s design, introducing light and symmetry without overpowering the landscape. The materials were chosen to weather beautifully with time, allowing the new structure to settle into its setting as if it had always been there.

Alongside the barn, we designed a contemporary-classic swimming pool area that feels like an effortless extension of the home’s refined aesthetic. While modern in function, it draws on the soft geometry and natural palette of the house, offering balance, calm, and a sense of quiet retreat.

When new additions feel like they’ve always belonged, that’s when you know you’ve got it right.
